When the best-kept secret in UK energy management needed to improve brand awareness in the market, they came to The Engine Room for guidance.

The Challenge

Since the Group managing director founded the first business (Orchard Energy) in 2004, he has led the organisation through a period of significant expansion. A carefully planned growth strategy was implemented, incorporating recruitment and staff training at every stage, to ensure service levels to clients are maintained.

Embracing the need for a national business with a regional presence, offices were opened throughout the UK with local teams who know the regional business climate. The Orchard Group was looking to work with an integrated brand agency with a well-defined, strategic approach and aspirations to build a strong and effective working relationship. The company wanted to visually illustrate what they do in order for audiences to better understand them and their services.

The Difference 

Meeting with senior staff at Orchard, The Engine Room gained insight into their current marketing activity and communications processes. The logo and branding was in need of an update to pull everything together under one clear and concise company bracket.

The new Group logo was designed to incorporate all areas of the Orchard Group, including Orchard Energy Solutions, Energy Purchasing, Environmental and Networks. The identity has been rolled out across all new corporate literature and exhibition material, with the brand pulling each part of the company into one consistent, central message. New marketing materials, including a monthly email newsletter and company newspaper, focus on Orchard’s customers, causes and brand values.

  • The Engine Room improved the way in which Orchard’s sales teams perform through the use of a new Prezi sales presentation.
  • Orchard has adopted a more visual approach from The Engine Room, which has made complex information simple to understand, and the interactive sales presentation made selling the size and scope of what Orchard do much easier.
