Strategic IT Partners

Shaw has been trading for five years and have gained organic growth through word of mouth and existing contacts. Now at a stage where they needed to develop a new approach, their entire brand and marketing strategy was given a new lease of life.

The Challenge

Shaw approached The Engine Room because they had reached a point where they were looking to move to their next level of growth, specifically with a view to increasing turnover by 20% by the end of 2016. Having never carried out any targeted marketing activity, they were looking to start developing their approach as well as addressing the entire brand. Wanting to grow their market share and ultimately improve their communications, Shaw needed to create an independent and trustworthy voice for their work.

The Engine Room initially met with Shaw before carrying out an internal workshop and some competitor insight via a series of research questionnaires. Speaking to their clients revealed 100% glowing feedback, so the brand now needed to reflect their impact within the industry.

The Difference

The Engine Room worked with Shaw to identify the unique selling points that would make them stand out from other and sometimes larger competitors. They were confident that they were one of the few consultancies in the sector that was fully independent, personable, trustworthy and customer-focused.

We developed Shaw’s brand values by focusing on ‘partnership’ as a main theme. Shaw was re-positioned from ‘IT Consultants’ to ‘Strategic IT Partners’ to portray them as the number once choice for a professional service within their very focused sector.

The Engine Room created two concepts during the development stage, with the chosen one representing direction and working together in parallel partnership. The fresh identity features a bright colour palette that sets Shaw aside from their competitors and was created alongside a new website build containing key messages to help audiences understand who Shaw were, what they did and how they could benefit clients. Their broad range of services was simplified with engaging copywriting to give clarity to new customers. We then worked with them to formulate a future-proofed and detailed marketing strategy.

Brand tools were then developed with the new identity including website, sales templates, business cards, E-newsletters and letterheads. Shaw Consultancy now has a much stronger presence, both online and in front of customers and a professional, clean and bold brand to help take their tailored communications to the next level.
