We are excited to announce that we have been awarded our third consecutive Design Effectiveness Award for the Comoodle brand project completed at the end of 2014.
Winners have been announced this week and The Engine Room will be attending an exclusive ceremony in London in the new year, amongst other renowned agencies from across the UK. Year after year, winning case studies demonstrate that successful projects require the integration of the design brief with business aims and objectives from the outset. This sets the stage for a transparent and accountable relationship between client and designer that provides the best creative and commercial environment for success. The case studies also serve to demonstrate the excellent value for money and return on investment that a coherent, well-thought-out and professionally executed design strategy can achieve. (DBA 2015).
Comoodle was a brand project commissioned by Kirklees Council. The Engine Room created the new name, identity and bid design. We also played a key part in wording and layouts for the submission, and uniquely presented the document in landscape. This all led to Comoodle being awarded a prize of €1 million of funding in an international business competition.
Lesley Gulliver, Managing Director at The Engine Room said, "We are absolutely delighted with this win for the Comoodle project. The Engine Room came up with the name, edited the bid, created the brand, the messaging, the personality and the proposition. A great example of a project that has brought together our entire team of designers, writers and strategists. And a great testament to the team at Kirklees Council, designing new services that will result in positive community changes and benefits against a backdrop of significant resource and budgetary cuts. And a million Euro return on investment to boot!"
