This audience of 7 and 8 year olds was one of the hardest yet, but the passion and excitement in the room was hard to beat! Two of our design team, Bailey Waterhouse and Amin Karimi, took to the classroom and gave the children an overview to brand, the role of a designer and the breadth of jobs available in the industry. The pupils loved hearing about some of the characteristics of a designer: observation, listening, thinking, collaboration and creation, asking lots of questions along the way about how designers go about solving problems.
They were taken through some example projects and the session was finished off with a logo quiz, including the likes of Netflix, Playstation, Adidas, Google and YouTube. The children loved it and demonstrated an impressive competitive spirit throughout.
An absolutely delightful morning and a big thank you to Diane Taylor at Mount Pleasant for setting the session up so beautifully.
