With a vision to be a leading supplier of print, packaging, and kitting in the UK life science market, our task was to align the brand with key audiences in the life science industry whilst retaining their strong brand equity in existing relationships.
Through a structured discovery process, we devised a brand strategy and identity that would translate the management team’s ambition. A new purpose statement, brand principles and personality were designed with input from all staff.
Whilst MBM’s print and logistics skills were hard to ignore, our insight discovered it was their passion for problem-solving that customers valued; Translating complicated requirements and regulatory barriers into workable solutions. This was the seed for their competitive advantage.
The creation of two sister brands. MBM print and MBM Medical, allow the business to focus marketing efforts on the Life Sciences market without alienating their existing customer base. A new proposition, ‘The commercial partner for ambitious manufacturers’ reframes their offer from products and service to one of solutions and growth.

The brand identity uses problem-solving as its cue, resulting in a playful wordmark displaying alternative arrangements of the letters MBM. The positioning statement, ‘where complex meets creative’ reinforces this approach. Their creative and honest personality is reflected through simple, bold colour and typography. The two 'sister brands' use the same design system but with different colour combinations.











We devised a flexible identity system designed for digital platforms and printed materials. Simple messaging and strong typography lead. Detailed brand guidelines and visual assets, such as presentation templates and direct mail concepts cut through the raft of digital communications. The MBM brand presents a bold and creative business.
