Working closely with the team, we created the RunPilot product brand and identity for their AI-powered collaborative routing platform designed to help infrastructure teams plan resilient networks across electricity, hydrogen, CCS, water, gas and offshore wind. As the business moved from research-led innovation into commercial growth, a clear proposition and confident brand identity were required to engage engineers, planners, policymakers and investors.
The Engine Room was appointed to develop the brand strategy and identity that would translate technical complexity into a clear, compelling market position - supporting growth, credibility and investment readiness.
Infrastructure planning is increasingly complex, shaped by environmental, technical and societal constraints. We devised the name RunPilot, to position the platform as the intelligent navigator of this uncertainty, combining human insight with AI-powered intelligence to help organisations de-risk and build faster.
This led to a clear proposition:
RunPilot navigates uncertainty in infrastructure planning. Collaborative routing software for resilient networks.

The identity reflects precision, clarity and confidence. The Axis brandmark represents the multi-directional nature of infrastructure planning, while a bold yellow-and-black palette creates strong recognition and signals decisive thinking. Structured typography and a calm, authoritative tone of voice reinforce the brand’s methodical, strategic personality.

Working closely with the RunPilot team, we developed a flexible identity system designed for digital platforms, communications and investment materials. Messaging frameworks, brand guidelines and visual assets support consistent rollout across product interfaces, marketing channels and stakeholder communications — positioning RunPilot as a confident, scalable technology brand ready to support the next generation of critical infrastructure.
