Since the rebrand, LUSU have:

• worked with 375 schools across the UK, exceeding their target of 50 schools by 650%. In doing so, they have reached 1125 trainers in disability sports coaching, educating teachers, coaches and teaching assistants to deliver sport inclusively.

• become officially named as the LTA’s partner in the delivery of both visually impaired tennis coaching and learning disability tennis.

• increased their reach to over 792 children, exceeding their objective by 58%.

Lesley Gulliver, Managing Director of The Engine Room, stated that “According to Scope, the disability equality charity in England and Wales, 9% of children in the UK are disabled. This equates to approximately 1.2million children. Many of these children are not fully included in physical education, which detrimentally effects their physical and mental wellbeing.
