For the second year running, our team members Bailey Waterhouse and Amin Karimi were invited to talk to primary school children about working in the design industry.

"Aspirations Day" was held at Mount Pleasant Primary school on 15th June, and saw professionals from the local area - from various industries and career paths - coming into school to give interactive talks about their professions to groups of children.

The event aims:

To encourage the children to be aspirational and think about the career paths they might like to take in future.
To help children see the links between what they are learning in their lessons and aspects of their future careers.
To broaden the children’s horizons and break any gender stereotypes at a young age.

Bailey and Amin talked about design, brand, working in a design agency, the role of a designer and the breadth of jobs available in the design industry. The children loved the presentation and the logo quiz including the likes of Netflix, Playstation, Adidas, Google and YouTube.

Another big thank you to Diane Taylor at Mount Pleasant for fantastic organisation and a warm welcome.
